Connections is the New York Times’ latest puzzle game. Your task is to categorize a set of 16 words into four hidden groups by identifying how the words relate to each other. The puzzle resets every night at midnight, and each new puzzle has a different difficulty level. Just like Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.

How to Play NYT Connections:

In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words. Your goal is to organize these words into four groups of four by finding the connections between them. These connections could be anything from titles of video game franchises to names of chain restaurants. Although some words might seem to fit into multiple themes, there’s only one correct solution.

To help you see the connections, you can shuffle and rearrange the words on the grid. Each group is color-coded: yellow for the easiest group, followed by green, blue, and purple.

Pick four words and hit Submit. If you’re correct, those words will be removed from the grid, and the theme connecting them will be revealed. Guess incorrectly, and it’ll count as a mistake. You only have four mistakes before the game ends.
