Battlegrounds Mobile India has declared that logins using Facebook accounts will be disabled from November 5 unless the user uses the Facebook app. The change is presently being performed on Android phones only. The game insists the difference is an outcome of a policy update in the new Facebook SDK.
Publisher Krafton also posted a new statement concerning the change on its website, declaring that post-November 5, “logins will be disabled unless the Facebook App is installed on your device.” The change was declared a few months ago, but a specific implementation date was not announced until today.
Facebook’s new SDK (software development kit) restricts third-party apps to log in to its accounts via the built-in Android browser (which is the small login window that pops up when you choose the “Login with Facebook” option on an app, without having the given Facebook app installed).
With the new update, the Facebook Android application obliquely becomes a compulsory necessity to log in if your Battlegrounds Mobile India account is connected to your Facebook account. If your Battlegrounds Mobile India account is connected to your Google Play or Twitter account, this development doesn’t affect you.
What can I do if I use Facebook to log into my BGMI account?
To resume playing Battlegrounds Mobile India using your Facebook account, all players need to install the given Facebook app if they haven’t already. Once the app is installed, Battlegrounds Mobile India will enable players to log in with Facebook via a pop-up.
