Samsung is one of those few brands who has traveled from manufacturing mobile phones with buttons to smartphones. Body
Samsung S23’s dimensions are 146.3 x 70.9 x 7.6 mm and weighs 168 grams. The model is covered with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back with covering of aluminum frame. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 weighs 271 grams. When folded, the phone measures 158.2 x 67.1 x 14.4 mm with Gorilla Glass Victus in front. When unfolded, the phone measures 158.2 x 128.1 x 6.4 mm with plastic front. The aluminum frame acts as armor for tougher drop and is scratch resistant. The model supports Nano-SIM and eSIM and is water resistant up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
Display
Samsung S23 has employed dynamic AMOLED 2X with refreshing rate at 120 Hz and brightness ranging between 1200 nits and 1750 nits. The display size is 6.1 inches with 86.8% screen-to-body ratio. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and resolution is 1080 x 2340 pixels.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 also has dynamic AMOLED 2X but it allows folding feature. The refreshing rate and brightness also remains same at 120 Hz and 1200 nits. It is much larger in size with bigger display of 7.6 inches, screen-to-body ratio of 88.8%. It has resolution of 1768 x 2208 pixels
Platform
Samsung S23 supports much advance version of operating system Android 13. It comes with chipset of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and CPU of Octa-core.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 supports Android 11 but can be upgraded to Android 13. The CPU is octa-core (1×2.84 GHz) and Snapdragon 888 5G chipset.
Camera
The main camera for Samsung S23 is 50 MP f/1.8 24mm (wide) and other modules includes 10 MP f/2.4 (telephoto), 12 MP f/2.2 (ultrawide). The gaming would be one good experience as the phone gives video quality of 8K @ 24/30 frames per second (fps), 4K @ 30/60 fps, 1080p @ 30/60/240 fps, 1080p @ 960 fps. The features include LED flash, auto-HDR, panorama.
The front camera 12 MP f/2.2 (wide). The video quality is 4K @ 30/60 fps, 1080p @ 30 fps with dual video call and auto-HDR features.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 has three main cameras – 12 MP f/1.8 (wide), 12 MP f/2.4 (telephoto), 12 MP f/2.2 (ultrawide). It does not comes with 8K quality of vision as it has 4K @ 60 fps, 1080p @ 60/240 fps and 720p @ 960 fps. The back camera also has HDR, panorama and LED flash features.
The selfie camera is 4 MP f/1.8 and 10 MP f/2.2 (wide) when unfolded. It includes HDR feature and video quality is at 4K @ 30 fps and 1080p @ 30 fps.
Battery
Samsung S23 comes lithium polymer battery of 3900 mAh. The non-removable battery can be 50% charged in 30 mins and supports wired and wireless charging. 25W wired, 15W wireless and 4.5W reverse wireless.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 has rather powerful battery of 4400 mAh, non-removable lithium polymer. It also supports both wired and wireless charging with 25W wired, 11W wired and 4.5W reverse wireless.
