Latest firmware update enhances camera features and addresses autofocus issues

Samsung’s flagship smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S23 series, has reportedly started receiving an update that includes the June 2023 Android security patch. Along with enhanced security, the firmware version S91xBXXU2AWF1 brings significant improvements to the camera functionality of the devices. The update is currently rolling out in select South East Asian markets, offering users a more refined photography experience.

According to reports from SamMobile, the firmware update is being deployed for Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra handsets in countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand. With a file size of 2.2GB, the update introduces the highly anticipated 2x zoom option within the camera app’s Portrait mode. Additionally, it addresses autofocus issues, enhances the Night mode feature, and incorporates various stability improvements and bug fixes.

Samsung Galaxy S23 series users can expect subtle enhancements in haptics, contributing to an improved user experience. Notably, this update is expected to resolve the camera blur issue that was acknowledged by Samsung earlier this month, further enhancing the overall photography capabilities of the devices.

Owners of eligible Galaxy S23 series smartphones should receive the update automatically over the air. However, users in the aforementioned regions can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and Install. It is recommended to perform the update while connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network and with the device plugged into a charger. The update is expected to roll out in more regions in the coming days, providing a wider user base with these exciting improvements.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 series was launched in India during the Galaxy Unpacked event in February, with prices starting at Rs. 74,999 for the base variant featuring 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Powered by a customized version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, these flagship devices boast Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays and feature Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front, ensuring durability and stunning visuals.

Samsung continues to prioritize software updates to deliver an enhanced user experience and maintain the competitive edge of its flagship devices. With the latest firmware update for the Galaxy S23 series, users can enjoy improved camera capabilities and address any existing issues, reinforcing Samsung’s commitment to customer satisfaction.
