Samsung’s claimed budget-friendly Galaxy Note 20 has been leaked out with minute details and seeing the specifications, it looks like some quality compromises have been made in the design and camera of the smartphone to lower its price. However, it still shares features with the high-end models of Samsung Galaxy family. The Galaxy Note 20 is expected to be launched at the unpacked event on 5 August 2020.

From the specifications, it is clear that Samsung has made careful choices to reduce the cost of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20. The screen size is 6.7 inch which is slightly smaller than the Note 20 Ultra’s 6.9 inch screen. Also, it has a lower screen resolution of 1080p and a 60Hz refresh rate. However, the smartphone is still provided with an in-display fingerprint reader and IP68 water resistance. The base Note 20 is expected to have a less advanced display glass and a plastic back.

The smartphone Note 20 may not have 5G support, although it might have dual SIM and eSIM support. The 4,300mAh battery is more than enough because of the relatively low screen resolution.

There has been a significant cut-down in the camera quality though. The cameras would include a 12MP primary camera and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. There wouldn’t be laser-based autofocus. But, it could still record 8k videos.

Even after all these changes, the Galaxy Note 20 is still expected to perform better as it will use the Exynos 990 like in higher-end Note 20s. There would possibly be 8GB RAM and 256GB storage combination which might not be expandable.

Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy Note 20 family at its Unpacked event on August 5. But, it’s still not certain how much the regular Note 20 will cost.
