The Redmi 12 is about to launch in India. On Monday, the sub-brand of Xiaomi announced the arrival of a new device in the nation via its official Twitter account. Last month, the Redmi 12 low-cost phone debuted in a few select nations. The smartphone has a triple back camera system with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a MediaTek G88 SoC. It sports a hole-punch display with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. A battery capacity of 5,000mAh powers the Redmi 12.

The Redmi 12 will go on sale in India on August 1, according to Xiaomi. Through a special landing page on its website, the business is teasing the look of the handset.

With a starting price of EUR 199 (about Rs. 17,000) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage option, the Redmi 12 was introduced in Europe last month in Midnight Black, Polar Silver, and Sky Blue colours. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option is listed with a price of THB 5,299 (about Rs. 12,500) in Thailand. The smartphone’s price in India may be comparable to that in Europe.

The Redmi 12 model launched in India should have the exact same specifications as the device introduced in Europe. The latter has a 6.79-full-HD+ (1,080X2,460 pixels) display with a variable refresh rate of up to 90Hz and runs MIUI 14, which is based on Android 13.

A 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor are all included in the Redmi 12’s triple rear camera configuration, which is AI-enabled. An 8-megapixel sensor is in charge of taking selfies and making video calls. It has an internal storage capacity of up to 256GB using eMMC 5.1, and it has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W rapid charging.
