Sony has recently revealed that the PS5 sales have surpassed 40 million units after almost 3 years since its launch. The company unveiled that the PS5 hardware sales exceeded 40 million on July 16.
In spite of the setback from the COVID-19 pandemic, the PS5 seems to be doing exceedingly well. Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO noted the challenges the company faced due to the global pandemic but assures that the PS5 is now “well-stocked” and that the demand is finally being met. In January, Sony reported that 30 million copies had been sold of the PS5 by the end of 2022. As Sony continues to produce more PS5 consoles at a faster rate, and with building rumors about a revised model being released within the next year, it’ll be interesting to see the follow up of the sales which might continue to accelerate in the foreseeable future.
