Summer might be coming to a close, but that hasn’t slowed down Marshall’s groove. The iconic audio brand has just unveiled two new wireless speakers: the Emberton III and the Willen II. At first glance, the Emberton III might look almost identical to last year’s Emberton II, still sporting that classic mini guitar amp design. But don’t be fooled—this isn’t just a repeat performance. The next-gen model packs several upgrades under the hood.
Just like its predecessor, the Emberton III features Marshall’s signature ‘True Stereophonic’ sound, delivering rich, multidirectional audio that seems to surround you as you listen.
What sets the Emberton III apart is its enhanced bass and the addition of ‘Dynamic Loudness,’ which automatically adjusts the tonal balance as you change the volume. This means you’ll get a consistently high-quality sound, no matter how loud or quiet you play your music.
Marshall’s latest also supports Bluetooth LE, a cutting-edge version of Bluetooth designed to improve audio quality, reduce power consumption, and enhance compatibility with other devices. This new capability allows for Auracast, enabling the speaker to broadcast audio to external devices like headphones. This is a big step up from the previous model.
However, it’s worth noting that Auracast won’t be available right out of the box. Marshall promises it will arrive later through an over-the-air update via the Marshall Bluetooth app. Other features include a built-in microphone for phone calls, a hefty battery life of over 32 hours, and an IP67 rating, making it resistant to dust and able to survive brief underwater dips.
The second new release, the Willen II, is a more compact and travel-friendly option. While it shares some features with the Emberton III, like Bluetooth LE support and a built-in microphone, it comes with its own unique touches, like a fastening strap on the back, allowing you to attach it to just about anything.
Due to its smaller size, the Willen II doesn’t have the ‘True Stereophonic’ sound, so it won’t deliver the same immersive audio experience as the Emberton III. Its battery life is also shorter, offering up to 17 hours of playtime. But if you’re looking for something that’s easy to toss in a bag, this might be the better option.
Both models are available for pre-order now. The Emberton III is priced at $170/£150/€179, while the Willen II will set you back $120/£100/€120. They come in two stylish color schemes: Black and Brass or Cream. Shipping is set to start globally on August 26.
