On Wednesday, the foldable Honour Magic V2 smartphone was unveiled in China. The Honour Magic V, which was released in January 2022, will be replaced by the foldable phone. An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC powers Honor’s newest foldable, which is also offered in the Magic V2 Ultimate Edition model. The phone weighs 231 grammes and has a folded thickness of 9.9mm, making it significantly lighter than existing foldable smartphones. Additionally, it is now the thinnest foldable on the market.
Priced at CNY 8,999 (approximately Rs. 1,03,000) for the Honour Magic V2’s entry-level 16GB + 256GB model and CNY 9,999 (about Rs. 1,14,500) for the 16GB + 512GB model. These variations come in Silk Black, Black, and Gold.
Starting on July 20, all models of the Honour Magic V2 will be sold in China.
The full-HD+ (2344 2156 pixels) 7.92-inch LTPO OLED inner display on the Honour Magic V2 has a refresh rate of 120Hz, a screen-to-body ratio of 90.4%, a maximum brightness level of up to 1600 nits, and a pixel density of 402ppi. The Magic V2’s 6.43-inch full-HD+ (2376 1060 pixels) LTPO panel boasts a screen-to-body ratio of 91.2 percent, a maximum brightness of 2500 nits, and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Both screens support stylus use.
The Honour Magic V2 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which is coupled with an Adreno 740 GPU, 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of internal storage.
The Magic V2 has three rear cameras: a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a second 50-megapixel ultra-wide unit with optical image stabilisation (OIS), and a 20-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens that also supports OIS. There is a 16-megapixel sensor in the front camera.
The 5,000mAh battery of the Honour Magic V2 supports the same 66W Honour SuperCharge charging technology as its predecessor. Additionally, the phone provides connectivity for 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.3 LE, GPS, NFC, and USB 3.1 Type-C. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
The new foldable from Honour is the thinnest one yet, measuring 156.7 x 145.4 x 4.7 mm when unfolded.
