On Thursday, Facebook removed ads by President Donald Trump’s campaign containing a symbol used by Nazi Germany.

The campaign messages with an inverted red triangle and used in Nazi camps violated a policy against “organised hate”, said the leading social network platform Facebook.

“We don’t allow symbols that represent hateful organizations or hateful ideologies unless they are put up with context or condemnation,” said Facebook’s Head of Security Nathaniel Gleicher. “That’s what we saw in this case with this ad, and anywhere that that symbol is used we would take the same actions,” added Gleicher.

This move made my Facebook came as it faced intense pressure to remove hateful comments from the President. Critics also said these comments promoted violence.

Recently, Mark Zuckerberg said that the social media platform will steer away from moderating political speech.
