The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra has only been available for a few days, but one customer has already reported being unhappy with it. The problem? The paint on the back of the watch is peeling off pretty quickly.
This issue was first mentioned on Reddit and then picked up by Android Authority. The customer noticed small chips in the coating on the back of the watch, even though they hadn’t used it for any intense activities like exercising or working out at the gym.
Another person on Reddit has also reported the same problem. It seems that this peeling paint issue is only happening with the gray version of the Galaxy Watch Ultra. The other colors, white and silver, don’t seem to have this problem.
It’s important to note that there aren’t many reports of this issue yet. Samsung’s customer support has already replaced the defective watch. However, if you’ve bought a Galaxy Watch Ultra, it might be a good idea to check if your watch has any paint peeling.
For the Galaxy Watch Ultra to be considered one of the best smartwatches, it needs to maintain its finish for more than just a few days. This paint peeling problem hasn’t been seen in other competing devices like the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
Samsung is very proud of its new premium smartwatch. They’ve even posted two images showing the internal components of the watch, with explanations of what each part does.
So far, Samsung hasn’t officially commented on the issue. If there are any new updates, we’ll share them here. Meanwhile, the recently launched Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch FE have not had any reported issues.
