WhatsApp is on a roll to improve its interface by gearing up to launch several new features this year, including video and voice call support for the Desktop app. According to recent reports, the Facebook-owned messaging app is currently testing several new features. The famous messaging application is used by millions and it is steadily growing more user-friendly by enhancing the overall user experience which might also lead to a rise in its patrons.

1.) New audio message feature

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will enable the user to change audio message playback speed on iOS, reported WABetaInfo. In other words, you will be able to play audio files at 1.5X or 2X speeds. Of course, you can also listen to audio messages at standard 1X speed as well.

2.) Instagram Reels on WhatsApp

Maneuvering from WhatsApp to Instagram or Facebook to explore content might be a tad annoying, but the company has come up with a solution for that as well. WhatsApp is working to add Instagram Reels support to the platform. WABetaInfo report suggests, the messaging app will soon add a section wherein users will be able to watch Instagram Reels on the platform. However, more details about this new feature are awaited.

3.) Multi-device support

The messaging platform has been working on this feature for quite some time now, and it is expected to officially release the multi-device support option for Android as well as iOS users in the months to come.

4.) Group calls on WhatsApp Desktop app

Attending a video conference on WhatsApp through your smartphone might be difficult, however, WhatsApp has confirmed that it will soon bring support for Group video and voice calls to the WhatsApp Desktop app. The launch date/time of this feature is yet to be revealed.

It’s only the WhatsApp app that supports video and voice call support for now. This feature is reportedly soon coming to WhatsApp Web as well, but there is no confirmation on the same yet, reported WABetaInfo.

5.) 24-hours disappearing messages

The messaging application recently launched the 7 days disappearing messaging support for Android and iOS users. Now, it is soon expected to release a 24-hour disappearing messages feature for users globally. The new feature will run on the similar mechanics of Stories, which vanish after 24-hours.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is yet to reveal official details about the upcoming 24-hour disappearing messages feature.

The messaging application surely has a lot to offer, and while many new features are being planned for the release, only time will tell if they are truly user-friendly.
