The multi-device functionality of Whatsapp has been attracting headlines ever since it first came to prominence. This is the most awaited WhatsApp updates and the multi-device support might be named the “linked devices” function as per the latest report, and users would need a code to sign in to different devices.
How it’s going to work
- Linked Devices should be accessible in the WhatsApp settings menu just below the new broadcast. The interface is close to the WhatsApp Web section of the app.
- Wabetainfo’s latest tweet indicated that, in order to sign in to several devices , users will need to input their mobile number and the code they would obtain as an SMS.
- “WhatsApp Chat” can also be used to obtain a code to connect WhatsApp accounts on different devices.
- On the linked device menu , the user will get an choice to remove the device from the account and also to connect a new device if desired.
The functionality of the linked devices is essentially the multi-device assistance about which there has been talk since time immemorial.
It may mean consumers would not only get multi-device help in the days ahead, but will also get a dedicated tool to handle all the apps that are connected.
“WhatsApp is using 4 smartphones to test this possibility, and the feature is still under development. WhatsApp, meanwhile, is focusing on developing an UI to access all Linked apps, “Wabetainfo ‘s report said.
The linked devices enable people to sign in with a single account from four separate devices. It ensures you will easily access WhatsApp from your iPad, MacBook, and Apple iPhone without needing to build different profiles for any of the apps.
For months we have been hearing about multi-device assistance on WhatsApp. However the new version reveals that the app is almost ready for usage. Up to this point nothing can be concluded about WhatsApp’s intentions to carry out the function officially.
