TikTok controversy is high on fire nowadays and now the news is coming that TikTok like data leak, for which the app was called out, is taking place in the popular social media site LinkedIn too.

An iOS 14 beta feature caught this act when a user tried to test LinkedIn and found that the app was copying his each and every keystroke from his clipboard!

The user took to his Twitter handle and posted, “LinkedIn is copying the contents of my clipboard every keystroke. IOS 14 allows users to see each paste notification. I’m on an IPad Pro and it’s copying from the clipboard of my MacBook Pro. Tik Tok just got called out for this exact reason.”

It is noteworthy that apart from LinkedIn, several other apps too tried to copy the clipboard data which includes Google News, Aliexpress, Call of Duty and Alibaba.

However, Erran Berger, VP Engineering, consumer products at LinkedIn acknowledged the issue and said that they don’t store any data at LinkedIn. Even then, they will fix the issue.

He said, “Appreciate you raising this. We’ve traced this to a code path that only does an equality check between the clipboard contents and the currently typed content in a text box. We don’t store or transmit the clipboard contents.”
