The government has issued an order to ban 43 more Chinese apps in India. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology issued the orders for blocking apps under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
The ministry said the blocking of these apps came as a barricade against the engagement in activities prejudicial to India’s sovereignty, integrity, defence, security, and public order.
An official statement said, “Ministry of electronics and information technology has issued the order for blocking the access of these apps by users in India based on the comprehensive reports received from Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, ministry of home affairs.”

Earlier, on June 29, 2020, the government had blocked access to 59 mobile apps and on September 2, 118 more apps were banned under section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
The order comes amid border tension between India and China which has been going on for months.
