New features coming in iOS 16:

New Lock screen interface: iOS 16’s lock screen has been completely overhauled and now supports widgets, user-customizable fonts, and an extended view that lets you read notifications and information right from the lock screen. Live Activities, where users can check scores and track information about food delivery, will also be supported by the lock screen.

iMessage: Starting with iOS 16, users will have up to 15 minutes after sending a message to change or delete it. For a period of up to 30 days following deletion, users can also restore recently deleted communications. Additionally, users can flag opened conversations as unread using a feature.

Apple Maps: With iOS 16, Apple made a number of modifications to the Maps app. With the latest version, it will display a number of new parameters, such as speed, car temperature, and other information. Like on Google Maps, users will be able to add several stops to their journey. Users of Apple Maps will also be able to monitor the costs of public transit. Additionally, the app will have improved Apple CarPlay connectivity and new 3D-like aesthetics.

Other new features like Live captions, Live Text fast actions, and a shared iCloud Photo Library option allow you to share photos with your family by transferring them to a designated shared folder are all additional new features with iOS 6. But this functionality won’t likely be accessible until much later in the year.
