In the United States, Apple has expanded its Self Service Repair Service programme to include support for Mac desktops and the Studio Display. The Self Service Repair Service, which was introduced last year for select iPhone models and has since been expanded to include MacBook laptop models powered by M1 chips, provides users with genuine service parts as well as repair instruction manuals and tools to assist them in repairing their devices at home. The service will now be offered on Mac desktops equipped with M1 processors.

Genuine Apple parts, tools, and instructions for the iMac (M1, 2021), M1 Mac mini, and M1 Ultra Mac Studio — all of which operate on M1 processors — have been discovered on the Cupertino, California-based company’s Self Service Program website. In the meantime, the Studio Display has been added to the list of compatible devices.

The Apple Self Service programme, which began in the United States, has lately expanded to include services in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. On December 6, Apple announced the expansion via an official press blog post.

However, support for the recently announced iMac (M1, 2021), M1 Mac mini, M1 Ultra Mac Studio, and Studio Display is currently confined to the United States. This would suggest that authentic parts and tools will not be shipped outside of the United States for the time being.

All users can access the self-service repair manuals for the iMac, Mac mini (M1, 2020), and M1 Ultra Mac Studio on Apple’s support page. This repair manual is also available on Apple’s official support page for the Studio Display.

Apple’s Self Service programme has been created to address display, top case, battery, and trackpad repair concerns while providing users with a four-part rental toolkit for a weekly rental price of $49 (about Rs. 3,900) that is particularly tailored for each Apple device.

The recently released device toolkits for the iMac (M1, 2021), M1 Mac mini, M1 Ultra Mac Studio, and Studio Display are all priced at $49 for a seven-day rental.
