AI Touch LLP has been awarded funding under the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) scheme of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), facilitated through the Digital Bharat Nidhi (formerly USOF). The grant supports the development of a cutting-edge platform integrating AI and ML capabilities into a disaggregated 5G Radio Access Network (RAN).
Key Project Features:
- Platform Components: Integration of RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC), Service Management and Orchestration (SMO), and Network Data Analytics Function (NWDAF).
- AI/ML Capabilities: The platform will include an AI/ML-powered intent engine to enable intelligent and automated control of RAN and Core nodes.
- Applications: The project aims to demonstrate sample applications like managing user experience during congestion and providing interfaces for third-party application onboarding.
- Network Optimization: Modules such as Non-Real-Time RIC and Near-Real-Time RIC will enhance network performance through AI-driven insights and automation.
Strategic Importance:
The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) will oversee the project, ensuring adherence to the highest technological standards. This initiative will not only foster innovation in India’s telecom sector but also contribute to the self-reliance and advancement of the 5G ecosystem.
Expert Insights:
- Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO of C-DOT, emphasized the importance of indigenous solutions for strengthening India’s telecom ecosystem.
- Amit Gupta, Partner at AI Touch, highlighted the focus on leveraging AI/ML for predictive capabilities and automation frameworks to tackle complex network challenges.
