On Thursday, Dame Sarah Storey of Great Britain officially created history in this year Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2021, by becoming the first athlete ever to win a record-breaking 17th Paralympic gold medal for her country and her fans. An emotional and overwhelmed Sarah Storey was very happy by this achievement as she burst into tears of joy as everyone was proud of her performance despite going through a lot of struggle. She becomes Britain’s most successful female athlete in the history of the Paralympic Games.

She was flanked by her fellow teammates Crystal-Lane-Wright as they completed the third one-two together. Marie Patoulliet of France took home the bronze medal behind the duo-pair in Tokyo.

Paralympics Great Britain was overwhelmed by her performance as they quoted “ The greatest, Two sports, 17 Paralympic titles, Our most successful ever”. She was hailed by a lot of athletes and fans all around the world

In very cold and wet conditions all over at the Fuji International Speedway, it was Sarah Storey of Great Britain who finished with a timing of 2hrs 21minutes and 51seconds to break the record of Mike Kenny as she won 16 Paralympic golds from 1976 to 1988. She was very happy with her victory.

The current record-breaker told Channel 4 TV that “I’m a bit overwhelmed” after the 79km race. She later added on her press conference by saying   “Right now I can’t explain or compute anything about the race, but crossing the line first felt good”

She also became Britain’s most successful female athlete in Paralympic Games in London in 2012 as she toppled Tanni Grey- Thompson for the most gold medal record with 12 in her kitty. She is truly the best female athlete in the world and the fans have ever seen.
