Novak Djokovic bagged his 21st Grand Slam title and his seventh trophy at Wimbledon this year defeating Nick Kyrgios of Australia. The Serb who dropped to No. 7th from three after the title couldn’t defend his 2000 points as ATP and WTA announced to not award any ranking points at this year’s championships in response to Wimbledon banning players based on their country namely Russia and Belarus.
Lack of ranking points did not stop the player from winning his 21st and becoming the player with the most Grand Slams titles in men’s singles history after Rafael Nadal with 22.
On his seventh major at Wimbledon, which is one less than Roger Federer’s most majors on grass, Nadal congratulated the Serbian player via Instagram comment. The Spaniard commented on Djokovic’s Wimbledon victory post, “Wow! Great moment! Enjoy it and many congrats.”

Meanwhile, Nadal was forced to withdraw from the championships following foot discomfort against eventual runner-up Kyrgios.
