The Spaniard has done it! Rafael Nadal has defeated Daniil Medvedev 2-6, 6-7(5), 6-4,6-4, 7-5 to clinch a record of 21st Grand Slam title at Rod Laver Arena and is now the man with the most majors surpassing Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in Men’s Singles.

Nadal started tough where Medvedev dominated him in the first two sets but since the start of the third, Nadal bounced back until the end when World No. 2 needed extra powers for the shots to beat sixth seed and it wasn’t enough to beat the newly crowned 2022 Australian Open champion in the game that lasted for five hours and 24 minutes.

With the win today, the King of Clay has now earned two Grand Slams in Melbourne despite playing seven Australian Open finals.

Earlier, the “Big Three” we’re on a tie with 20 Grand Slam titles where Novak Djokovic previous season managed two won three in a calendar year. World No. Six now leads the two with the most following his outstanding season. The Spanish professional had started his season with a trophy at ATP Cup Summer Set 2022.
