Villarreal have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea to sign Portuguese midfielder Renato Veiga in what will be a club-record transfer for the Spanish side. Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal on his official social media, using his trademark phrase “Here We Go”.

The agreement between the two clubs has been settled at €29.5 million, including add-ons and a sell-on clause. The move marks the most expensive signing in Villarreal’s history, underlining the club’s ambition to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

Renato Veiga, who only joined Chelsea earlier, has quickly attracted attention across Europe with his versatility and technical ability. Capable of playing both in midfield and defensive roles, the 20-year-old has been seen as one of Portugal’s brightest young talents. His arrival at Villarreal is expected to add depth and quality to a side looking to push higher up the La Liga table and compete strongly in European competitions.

According to Romano, the player has already given the green light to Villarreal and will travel soon to undergo medical examinations once the final documents are exchanged. The Yellow Submarine are optimistic that the signing will be finalized in the coming days.
