Sergio Ramos will not take part in the match but instead observe from the stands at the Bernabeu. Ramos will not feature in PSG’s showdown versus Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, it has been announced. Mauricio Pochettino, on the other hand, has affirmed that Ramos will visit the Spanish capital.
“Sergio asked us to travel, he would like to come with us. He has played practically his whole career at Real Madrid. 17 years as captain and he won so much there. It’s obvious that he would like to go back there and he asked us if he could travel with us and help out”, Pochettino said as reported by BR Football.
Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of PSG, has disclosed that Sergio Ramos will go to Madrid with the team although being knocked out of the match against Real. The coach also claimed that the Argentine, Di Maria, has a space in the starting lineup for the Champions League match in the last 16, whilst Brazilian, Neymar Jr is still not 100 per cent.
Pochettino addressed how Ramos would go to Madrid, the fact that he is recovering from a fresh injury, and that the game on Wednesday is ‘crucial’. He heads his squad to Madrid with a 1-0 aggregate result after the first-leg victory with Kylian Mbappe, Leo Messi, and Angel Di Maria. In terms of Wednesday, Pochettino remarked that he does not think there is a frontrunner for the tie because his club only has a “minimal lead” going into the second leg and that he has planned “a different strategy than three weeks ago.”
