Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho has emerged as a key part of discussions with Aston Villa, with the two clubs currently locked in negotiations that could involve goalkeeper Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez.

According to Fabrizio Romano, talks are ongoing on two fronts: United are exploring a move for Martínez to strengthen their goalkeeping department, while Villa have been approached about potentially taking Sancho in a separate but related deal. The England international, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, remains a player United are willing to move on as part of their summer rebuild.

United are keen to include Sancho in the Martínez negotiations, though they are also keeping alternative options open, including goalkeeper prospect Semme Lammens. For Ruben Amorim’s side, Martínez represents a proven Premier League shot-stopper with Champions League experience, while Sancho’s departure could free up both funds and squad space.

The final decision, however, will not rest solely with the clubs. Sancho himself must choose whether to join Unai Emery’s high-flying Villa side immediately or wait for alternative offers. Reports suggest there could be interest from outside Europe, though a move to Villa would allow the winger to remain in the Premier League and potentially revive his career at a club competing in Europe this season.
