Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was compelled to substitute both Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake at halftime against Peterborough United in midweek after both incurred ailments in the 2-0 FA Cup fifth-round victory at the Weston Homes Stadium.
With Dias thereafter ruled out of his team’s upcoming game against Manchester United, Guardiola disclosed the worrisome extent of Dias’ injury whilst also previewing the clash against Ralf Rangnick’s team on Friday.
“Muscular, hamstring. Four to six weeks. It happens,” said Pep Guardiola reported by Goal. He further stated that he has seen many times that the club had its important players injured and he has overcome such circumstances. He would have wanted Dias to play but there are more players available to fight for the season.
Most crucially, Dias would most certainly be in a battle to be ready for Liverpool’s Premier League match against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, April 10.
Manchester City, that are still in the quest for silverware on 3 sides, are only six points clear of Jurgen Klopp’s side in the table after completing one extra game.
