Real Madrid have been dealt a significant injury setback as right-back Dani Carvajal has been diagnosed with the presence of a joint free body in his right knee, ruling him out of action until January 2026.

According to reports from renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish defender will undergo an arthroscopy to address the issue. The recovery process is expected to keep him on the sidelines for six to eight weeks, meaning he could miss a crucial stretch of matches in both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Carvajal, who has been a mainstay in Real Madrid’s backline for over a decade, has once again been hit by injury troubles that have plagued large parts of his career. His absence leaves a major void for manager Xabi Alonso, who will now have to rely on Alexander-Arnold or Fede Valverde to cover the right-back position in the coming fixtures.
