The former Spanish politician and current Real Madrid President had been hospitalised today to undergo a surgery to remove a nodule from one of his lungs, which was successful, according to Spanish media outlet Marca.
The surgery took place today morning at the Puerta De Hierro Hospital, Majadahonda and lasted till 11:30am Spanish Standard Time. He did not accompany the team to Leipzig for the Champions League fixture as he has to rest for a few days before resuming his day to day operations once again. Perez is arguably the most successful Real Madrid president and his participation in the club’s business is extremely vital for the club to prosper. It is a sigh of relief that the President is not in a zone of danger.
