Barcelona winger Raphinha has opened up about his disappointment after finishing fifth in the Ballon d’Or rankings and being left out of the FIFPRO Men’s Best XI, admitting that he feels he deserved greater individual recognition following what he described as a “spectacular season.”

Speaking shortly after the award outcomes were revealed, the Brazilian international did not hide his frustration but remained composed and focused on continuing to perform for his club.

“Have I felt undervalued? Yes, honestly, I have. I think I deserved much more, but well… I cannot control that,” he said. “For the individual awards, people’s votes, journalists’ votes… that’s something that doesn’t depend on me.”

While acknowledging his disappointment, Raphinha emphasised that his priority has always been contributing to the team rather than chasing personal accolades. “What I control is what I do on the pitch, and I’m sure I had a spectacular season, and for me, that’s enough,” he explained. “I don’t want anything from anyone. I keep working as well as doing my best for my team, and that’s it.”

The 27-year-old was one of Barcelona’s standout performers last season, playing a crucial role in the team’s attacking structure and helping secure important victories in domestic and European competitions. His influence earned widespread praise, making his omission from the FIFPRO Best XI a subject of debate among fans and analysts.
