New boys Brentford FC celebrated their first victory as they beat clueless Arsenal by 2 goals to nil in the Premier League season opener. Versatile manager Thomas Frank was very happy with the first Premier League victory in front of their home fans as they welcome them after the tough COVID-19 pandemic in England, which ruled out fans from watching from the stadium.

The Bees were celebrating their first victory in the top flight of England football after 74 long years. The last time they played the Premier League was back in 1947, as they will create a whole lot of buzz this season. They surprised Arsenal with their clinical passing and beautiful finishing as they start the season with a positive side. In the season’s curtain-raiser, Thomas Frank’s men did exactly show why they were dangerous in the Championship last season.

Brentford FC also celebrated by putting a tweet saying “The opening night is a perfect night.”

The home side came out strong and overwhelming as they blocked and outplayed the Gunners in the opening exchanges. Thomas Frank’s side were already brilliant and attacking from the very first minute and got their goal in the 22nd minute as Sergi Canos takes a smooth touch inside the area and rifled a low effort through Callum Chambers and past Bernd Leno to score their first goal.

Arteta’s Gunner’s weren’t completely out of the equation but they somehow managed to get back in the game during the first half when they held the ball without taking any chances. The second half began with Arsenal dominating the first few minutes, but the effort of Emile Smith Rowe was wasted as David Raya made a wonderful save to keep Brentford alive as they failed to equalise. Granit Xhaka on the 70th minute almost scored, only to his volley going over the bar. Brentford got their second in the 73rd minute, with Christian Norgaard as he stormed past the Arsenal defenders to head in from a long throw-in to claim the three points for Brentford.
