On Thursday, Brazilian iconic star Pele officially announced that he has been recovering well after going through a set of surgeries for a colon tumour. On Saturday, the surgery was conducted and done in São Paulo, Brazil. The fans all around the world also prayed for his speedy recovery as he was applauded and showered with love and respect by fans as well as the football teams all around the globe. Many athletes were happy with the legend giving some good news to all the sports fraternity all over the globe. On Monday, he was also going through an intensive care unit which was carefully monitored by the doctors.
An update of his condition was provided by the doctors in São Paulo that if he will still stay and recover at the unit as the safety measures and precautions had to be taken necessarily. There were reports on August 31 according to Albert Einstein Hospital that he was detected with a tumour during the routine tests conducted daily. The condition became even more worse day by day as fans got worried about it.
Pele is the only player in the history of football to win 3 FIFA World Cups in his name which was back in 1958, 1962 and 1970. He has written his name in the history books which is next to impossible for a lot of footballers to break the record. He set the standard high for the others who are trying to win the iconic World Cup.
Edson Arantes do Nascimento, Pele’s original name has been in poor health in recent years, and has had various spells in hospital, most recently in April 2019, in Paris, because of a severe urinary tract infection.
After taking retirement from international football, he then went on to play for the New York Cosmos after ending his career scoring over 1,000 goals. He is truly the best player of all time.
