The English Premier League is back and the teams have also started their planning for the January transfer window which is about to open in few days. Ahead of this, Wolverhampton Wanderers has signed a new player named Matheus Cunha from the Spanish League i.e. La Liga.

Matheus Cunha has joined the side from Atletico Madrid on loan. However at the end of the season (2022-23), Matheus Cunha will officially become a Wolves player as there is an option of ‘obligation to buy’ in the contract. Both the parties agreed to the deal after putting this clause. Cunha’s contract with the Wolverhampton Wanderers will be valid until June 2027 as it is a four-year contract..

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be paying €50 million to Atletico Madrid after this season to buy Matheus Cunha permanently. Cunha was not only wanted by Wolverhampton, but there were many other Premier League sides who were looking for the forward.

Cunha was also approached by Manchester United last season but after their new manager Erik ten Hag came in charge, it seems he didn’t want the player in the team.
