Bengaluru FC has announced they have parted ways with their defender Alan Costa ahead of the Hero Super Cup for personal reasons. For the following season, 2021-22, he is on loan from Avai FC to the Blues.
For those towering headers, last-gasp winners and so much more. ♥️

Since joining Bengaluru FC from Avai FC, Costa has made 44 appearances and scored five goals. His reputation was built on his ability to achieve towering headers and his strength and stability at the back of the defence. On 20 November 2021, he made his Indian Super League debut against NorthEast United as part of a 4-2 victory for the club. On 24 November 2021, he scored the first goal of his league career against Odisha, but the team lost 3-1.
In the final of the 2022 Durand Cup against Mumbai City FC, Costa leapt to score yet another header from a set-piece situation that helped the team take the lead. Costa made the most significant contribution to the team.
In the absence of Alan Costa, BFC will miss his leadership qualities at the back, which have been a crucial part of Simon Grayson’s team during his time in charge. It must be said, however, that Blues fans will cherish his time at the club for as long as they live.
