Nottingham Forest have officially reported Tottenham Hotspur to the Premier League for allegedly making an “illegal approach” for star midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, as per a report by Fabrizio Romano.
Forest filed the complaint on Thursday afternoon, accusing Spurs of contacting the player without permission and demanding that all communication with Gibbs-White be stopped immediately. The Midlands club is also considering legal action, claiming Tottenham may have gained knowledge of the player’s £60 million release clause in an improper manner.
While Tottenham are confident they’ve acted within the rules and remain keen to push ahead with the deal, the Premier League’s investigation could lead to a significant delay and possibly jeopardize the transfer altogether.
