Instead, all efforts are being channelled towards finalising Koundé’s extension, a move that underlines the club’s trust in his versatility and long-term value.
Eric Garcia, who spent last season on loan at Girona, has also impressed the coaching staff, further strengthening Barcelona’s belief that internal solutions can address their defensive needs. While Dumfries remains on the market, Barcelona are not expected to shift focus from their current plan.
