Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell are out of the Chelsea’s training part and project in the new season i.e. 2024/25. New manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that the club isn’t planning to continue with the services of these two players for the current season.

“Sterling and Ben are training apart from the first team. I just try to be honest with them,” Enzo Maresca said in an interview as reported by Fabrizio Romano. The No.7 jersey which was worn by Sterling last season has been already alloted to new signee Pedro Neto in the club which means currently these players are finding out new clubs to play and will soon leave.

This news marks a significant shift in the club’s strategy, as both players have been integral parts of the squad in recent years.

The bold statement underlines the club’s clear direction under its new leadership, with the decision signaling that Sterling and Chilwell are free to find new clubs.

The exclusion of Sterling is further emphasized by the reassignment of his No.7 jersey, which has been handed to the club’s new signee, Pedro Neto. This move suggests that Chelsea is already looking ahead with its new lineup, leaving little room for the two experienced players.
