Manchester United legend, Denis Law, has been diagnosed with dementia. He has revealed that he is suffering from Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia. He is the latest player to reveal that they are suffering from this disease which can certainly cause degeneration in your brain.
His former team-mate in Manchester United, Sir Bobby Charlton also has revealed that he is suffering from this disease.
Denis Law, 81, has stated that this will not be an easy journey for his loved ones. He has further stated that the road is indeed is hard for him and is asking for understanding and patience. He has further added that he will still watch all the games of Manchester United and be involved with the community, so that they can be positive.
Law and his family are donating to the Alzheimer’s Society which has done good work, according to Law, in the sports industry with its Sport United against Dementia campaign which he fully supports.
For his national team Scotland, he has scored 30 goals in 55 appearances. He was a Manchester United legend who scored 237 goals in 404 appearances and was part of the Manchester United trinity along with Sir Bobby Charlton and George Best. He won the Ballon D’Or in 1964. He has played for Huddersfield, Manchester City and Torino too. His trophies include 2 First Division Titles,2 Charity Shield titles, a European Cup and a FA cup.
Manchester United, where he spent a bulk of his career, have said that Law is one of the most beloved club legends and sends love to him and his family. They know the fans will be behind him and applauds him for the bravery shown in revealing the disease.
