Manchester United finally break the deadlock — and it’s Diogo Dalot, scoring his first Premier League goal at Old Trafford.
A deflected Casemiro effort fell perfectly inside the West Ham box, and Dalot was in the right place at the right time, 10 yards out. Calm as you like, he took a touch and swept the ball past Alphonse Areola to put United 1-0 ahead.
BBC Radio 5 Live’s Charlie Slater summed it up perfectly:
“The ball deflects into the West Ham penalty area and Dalot was in the right place at the right time. Ten yards out, he swipes the ball into the back of the net.”
The breakthrough comes at a crucial moment for Ruben Amorim’s side as they look to climb up the Premier League table.
