Manchester United are prioritising the signing of Left-back as they believe both of their left backs namely Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are injury prone defenders and will not be able to fit for the whole next season. Last season, Erik ten Hag faced difficulties in making the right team combination because both of these Left-backs were injured for an extended period.
Manchester United is in its pursuit of a new left-back ahead of the upcoming season, reportedly due to concerns over the fitness of current options Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. The club’s management believes that both Shaw and Malacia are prone to injuries, which could potentially sideline them for significant periods during the next campaign.
Last season under manager Erik ten Hag, Manchester United encountered substantial challenges in team selection due to the prolonged absences of Shaw and Malacia. Their injuries disrupted the team’s defensive stability and limited the manager’s ability to consistently field his preferred lineup.
Manchester United’s focus has now shifted towards securing a dependable left-back who can provide consistent performances throughout the season after signing of striker and defender in this summer window.
