Manchester City is set to leave the talks with Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz as they find the deal will be too expensive and they can’t afford this much for a single player. As per Fabrizio Romano’s reports, the club is eyeing new targets and they have started to look Morgan Gibbs-white of Nottingham Forest as their potential No.10. They have also identified their No.8 which is Tijjani Reijnders.
Manchester City have reportedly pulled out of negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen for star midfielder Florian Wirtz due to the high financial demands involved in the deal. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, City consider the transfer fee too steep and have decided not to proceed with the move.
With Wirtz now off the table, the Premier League champions have started exploring alternative options to strengthen their midfield. Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White has emerged as a potential target to fill the No.10 role. The 24-year-old impressed last season with his creativity and energy, making him an attractive option for Pep Guardiola’s setup.
In addition to Gibbs-White, City have also identified their preferred candidate for the No.8 position—Tijjani Reijnders of AC Milan. The Dutch midfielder enjoyed a strong campaign in Serie A and is seen as a versatile addition to City’s midfield plans.
