Lucas Paquetá has informed West Ham United of his desire to leave the club and rejoin Brazilian giants Flamengo, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The 26-year-old midfielder has made his stance clear, with Flamengo emerging as his absolute priority ahead of any other potential move.

West Ham are understood to be open to selling Paquetá but would prefer the deal to be completed in June rather than immediately. In contrast, Flamengo are pushing hard to secure the transfer as soon as possible, leading to ongoing negotiations between the two clubs. While talks are continuing, Paquetá’s personal terms with Flamengo have already been agreed in recent days, underlining his determination to return to his boyhood club.

Paquetá joined West Ham from Lyon in 2022 and quickly became a key figure under David Moyes. Known for his creativity, flair, and ability to operate in multiple midfield roles, the Brazil international has been an important presence in the Premier League and played a role in West Ham’s UEFA Europa Conference League triumph. However, his future in London now appears increasingly uncertain.
