Liverpool have been dealt a significant setback as Jeremie Frimpong is set to spend several weeks on the sidelines through injury. Manager Arne Slot confirmed the news, delivering a mixed update on the club’s current injury situation ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
“Jeremie Frimpong will be out for some time… he’s not gonna play today, tomorrow, next week. No way,” Slot said, confirming that the Dutch right-back’s recovery will take longer than initially hoped. The news comes as a major blow for Liverpool, with Frimpong having impressed since his summer move and quickly becoming a key figure in Slot’s attacking system.
However, there was some positive news for the Reds. Swedish forward Alexander Isak is reportedly feeling much better and could make a return soon. “Isak’s feeling better already, he’s now a question mark for the weekend… but it’s not too bad,” Slot added, hinting that the striker might be available for selection in the coming days.
Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is also on the mend. “Same as Isak… doubt for this weekend but he’s doing good, we will see him soon,” Slot said, suggesting that the Dutchman’s recovery is progressing well.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Alisson Becker remains unavailable, with Slot confirming that the Brazilian shot-stopper’s return will take more time.
