Liverpool continues to maintain the pressure at the Premier League table, with a 2-0 win over Brighton at the Brighton and Hove stadium. Luiz Diaz and Mohammed Salah were among the Reds who opened the scoresheet as early as the 19th minute and with a penalty respectively. Although the Reds pushed through at the Amex stadium, it was a frustrating progression for the team as, despite the possession, there was a lack of passes and distribution among the players along with several missed shots.

A lovely and accurate long ball from Trent Alexander Arnold was missed by Mohammed Salah in the first half in his run towards the box, which disappointed the german coach, as he didn’t find the performance of the Reds up to the title-contender mark that they always deliver.

Brighton however, has had a dry spell after an initial three months in the season, they have lost all previous five matches they have played. Former Red, Lallana had to be taken off as he suffered a non-contact injury and eventually, the confidence of the team, dipped and allowed Reds to take up the space to beat the previously missed shots.

Luiz Dias has been a major contributing factor to most play-making performances and his brave header at the 19th minute saw him clash with Robert Sanchez, the goalkeeper for Brighton. Even with the goal contribution, the Colombian stayed on the ground to recover from the physical contact on his death. Despite the twist and turns by the opposition, the 25-year-old delivered for the team once again and has proved that he is here to stay and win as a Red.
