Lionel Messi who won his first international trophy with Argentina, the country’s rememberable Copa America 2021 victory on Sunday against Brazil has devoted the accomplishment to his late idol and football legend Diego Maradona.
“Diego was surely instructing us on wherever he is,” said Messi via his Instagram post paying tribute to the remembrance of Maradona who died at the age of 60 last November and the world lost one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.
Barcelona’s Messi thanked his family and country and added: “I want to dedicate this attainment to my family, who have always given me the courage to continue, to my friends whom I love so much, to all the people who support us and above all to 45 million Argentina fans who have mourned so with this dreadful virus.”
