Leceister City sealed a win at the King Power Stadium against Brentford with 54% possession and 11 shots on target. They were leading in the first half with 2-0, maintaining a clean sheet but conceded to a goal by the Bees in the second half.

Timothy Castagne, who was out from an injury for three months put up a terrific performance with a comeback as he sent the ball to the top corner at the 15th minute, opening the scoresheet for the Foxes while James Maddison helped the Foxes with a penalty at the 33rd minute along with bagging the man of the match award. Brentford, however, put up a performance against the struggle with a late goal from YYoannWissa which was not enough as the Foxes secured the win early on in the game with 3 points.

Brentford was looking for a goal in the second half but to their disappointment, Schmeichel was having a good game. Even when Maddison missed his shots wide, the Bees couldn’t get to the Leceister box as all the shots that Mbeumo and Jansson headed for goal for Brentford was saved by Schmeichel. The match, however, extended to an extra-time giving Brentford a slight hope of a draw but the visitors could only close the gap to 2-1. The Foxes are now up to the tenth position only a point away from their midland rivals, Aston Villa whereas Brentford is eight points away from relegation and will have to look for the safety net in their next game against one of the toughest opponents in Europe, Chelsea.
