Barcelona have received a huge boost as teenage sensation Lamine Yamal edges closer to a return from injury, head coach Hansi Flick has confirmed. The 17-year-old winger, who has been sidelined in recent weeks, is now back in training and could soon feature on the pitch again.

“Lamine trained well yesterday and today, so now he’s close to returning on the pitch soon,” Flick told reporters, highlighting the youngster’s positive progress in recovery. The news comes as a major relief for the Blaugrana, who have missed Yamal’s creativity and flair in attack.

The German manager also addressed the growing discussions surrounding Yamal’s future and his chances of winning football’s most prestigious individual prize, the Ballon d’Or. While some had speculated whether the injury setback could hinder his momentum, Flick remained confident in his player’s long-term prospects.

“The Ballon d’Or? Not winning this year will be a clear motivation for him to go and win in the coming years,” Flick explained. “Lamine takes it positively. He’ll have chances to win the Ballon d’Or, for sure… he can make it happen.”
