World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe stepped up from PSG with a brilliant header to help his side in the 4-2 victory over Brest. PSG’s win over Brest has put them on the top of the table scoring 10 goals and conceding 5 in their opening three games of the season having won all of them.

The Spaniard Ander Herrera opened the scoring in the 23rd minute to volley the ball past the home team goalkeeper Marco Bizot. Mbappe made it 2-0 in the 36th minute from 10 meters after latching onto a rebounded shot from PSG’s new signing Giorginio Wijnaldum.
Brest’s right-winger Frank Honorat found the back of the net in the 42nd minute of the first half to try and bring the game back to the home side. Brest tried to continue from where they left off at the end of the first half. The home side were unable to keep the momentum going in their favour while dropping the pace of the game.
PSG looked to capitalize on this as the defensive midfielder Idrissa Gueye contributed to the attack to extend PSG’s lead to 3-1 in the 73rd minute. While the keeper should have done better, Gueye fired the shot from 35 meters to beat Bizot at his near post.
The 85th minute saw Brest score their second goal beating Keylor Navas to make it 3-2. The substitute Angel Di Maria sealed the win for his side during stoppage time from a quick counterattack from a Brest corner.
PSG fans still await for Lionel Messi to make his debut for his new club after leaving Barcelona earlier this month as the club says he is still yet to be declared fit along with his teammate Neymar Jr. who has rejoined training.
“This week has been very good for Leo. We hope the next week he can make it to the team,” said Pochettino in a post-match interview as reported by Reuters.
