AC Milan have taken a major step forward in their pursuit of Jean-Philippe Mateta after the French striker agreed personal terms with the Italian giants. Negotiations are now ongoing with Crystal Palace over a potential transfer, with the deal expected to be worth around €30 million.

Mateta, who has been one of Crystal Palace’s standout performers in the Premier League this season, is open to joining Milan either in the upcoming summer transfer window or possibly earlier, depending on Palace’s decision. The 26-year-old forward is said to favour a move to San Siro over offers from several Premier League clubs that have also shown interest in his signature.

Milan are actively searching for attacking reinforcements as they look to strengthen their squad for the next season, particularly with ambitions of competing strongly in Serie A and Europe.

Mateta’s physical presence, aerial ability and goal-scoring instincts make him an attractive option for the Rossoneri, who want a reliable striker to complement their attacking setup.
