Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has delivered a strong response to Mohamed Salah’s recent remarks, calling the Egyptian’s actions “a disgrace” and accusing him and his agent of deliberately choosing a moment designed to cause “maximum damage.”
Speaking on the situation, Carragher claimed that Salah’s decision to stop in the mixed zone was not spontaneous. “It’s choreographed with him and his agent to cause maximum damage and strengthen his position,” he said. Carragher suggested that Salah intentionally picked the weekend to criticise the manager, saying, “He’s waited and chose this time to go for the manager and get him sacked… that’s how I felt about it.”
The Liverpool legend did not hold back, arguing that Salah had effectively thrown the club “under the bus.” Carragher noted that while the forward has carried Liverpool at times, he has also relied heavily on the team and the manager throughout his eight years at Anfield. “You weren’t a star when you came to Liverpool… no matter how good a player you are, you need help from teammates, the manager, and the fans.”
