Jadon Sancho is set to return to Manchester United after a proposed move to Chelsea collapsed over wage demands. According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea refused to match the winger’s current salary at United, ultimately ending negotiations.
Despite interest from the Blues, the financial terms proved to be a stumbling block. With the deal now off, Sancho will rejoin United and is expected to explore new options once the summer transfer window opens.
The forward spent the second half of the 2023–24 season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, where he impressed in their run to the Champions League final. However, his future at United remains uncertain, especially after his fallout with Erik ten Hag earlier in the campaign.
Chelsea had identified Sancho as a potential attacking reinforcement, but the club is currently operating under stricter financial controls and opted not to stretch their wage structure for the England international.
