In a major move for Ipswich Town, the club has agreed to a season-long loan deal to bring in Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City. The loan, which will see Phillips don the Ipswich jersey until June 2025, marks a major boost for the PL side.
Phillips, who has struggled for regular first-team action since his move to Manchester City, will be eager to revitalize his career with Ipswich Town. The deal, however, does not include an option to buy, meaning Phillips is expected to return to Manchester City at the end of the 2024-2025 season.
The 28-year-old midfielder is set to undergo his medical with Ipswich Town shortly, with an official announcement expected to follow soon after. The move is seen as a coup for Ipswich, who will be hoping that Phillips’ experience and quality can help them in their push them in the Premier League this season.
